Bio

Richard Muller joined the Army after graduating from Syracuse University. When he continued his art education at the University of Oregon in 1954, he shared an apartment with Harry Widman. His paintings are landscape oriented with many levels of meaning, all relating to nature. With a cool, muted palette Muller captured the "essence of wildness." He joined the art faculty at Portland State University in 1959 to replace Frederick Heidel who was on sabbatical leave.
