Description

This print of a Royal tiger was created as a pair with Lion de l’Atlas (Lion of the Mountains) [see Related Artworks] to reference the games of ancient Rome, where Barbary lions and Bengal tigers were regularly pitted against each other. While the tiger here looks passive, these cats were usually victorious in such showdowns.
