Description
Located where Dommel and Aa rivers join to form Dieze. Chartered by duke Henry I of Brabant in the 12th century and grew to be important wool center and bishop's seat in 1559. Often under siege, since it was located on Catholic-Protestant line of division. Birthplace of painter Hieronymus Bosch in ca. 1450.
