Hayward, a small town of about two thousand residents located in far northwest Wisconsin, is home to one the world's largest muskellunge (or muskie), a species of fish that frequents nearby Hayward Lake. Indeed, many prize-winning muskies, one of which can be seen in the top left of Carl Corey's photograph, are showcased at the Moccasin Bar along with a number of unusual and surprising animal dioramas. Proprietors Kathy and Bernie Tworek pose next to "The Winnah!," which depicts a victorious pugilist raccoon whose paw is held high by the contest's referee, a groundhog.
