Description

Tall stoneware jars such as this one, made to suit utilitarian purposes and decorated with a stamped lattice design, were made in southern China for many centuries from the Eastern Zhou through Han periods. This example is very similar to a jar in the collection of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.
