Bio

Brothers Darius and Clark Kinsey documented logging activities in California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia for more than thirty years. They often hiked over rough terrain for miles with their large-format cameras and darkroom equipment in order to access remote logging camps, where they created tens of thousands of images of equipment, facilities, and the men who harvested timber. Their pictures of proud loggers conquering forests despite dangerous working conditions stand in stark contrast to those by later photographers who document the aftermath of deforestation in the Northwest.
