Description

Liberty, President Gerald Ford's golden retriever, was an almost constant companion of the commander in chief and First Lady and was wildly popular with the public. The Fords' daughter, Susan, regularly replied to Liberty's fan mail with photographs of the dog stamped with a paw print. In this image, the faithful Liberty accompanies President Ford on Marine One, the presidential helicopter.
