Bio

Kurosaki Akira is one of the grand old masters of the woodblock print. He brings to the medium the precision and intensely saturated hues normally associated with silkscreen prints. His work mystifies with its clear-edged forms and ultra-bright color palette. Kurosaki trained at the Kyoto University of Industrial Arts and pursued graduate work at Harvard University and the Hoschschule für Bildende Künste, Hamburg. He returned to teach in Kyoto and has led workshops around the world.
