Description

Many of Prášilova's earliest Houston subjects were her husband's colleagues at Rice University. Organic chemist Walter Kirner was new to the Rice University faculty when Prášilova made this portrait. Kirner went on to head the division of chemistry at the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C.
