Description

This theatrical study of Evelyn McCormick went on public display in October 1935 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston during its Annual Photographic Exhibit. A longtime champion of the photographic arts, the museum held juried exhibitions for Houston-based photographers between 1932 and 1953. This photograph was a jurors' favorite, winning an award ribbon that is still attached to its backing mat.
