Description

Onoe Baikô VII (1915-1995) was one of the most successful kabuki stars of the 20th century, with an acting career that spanned seven decades. He assumed the name Baikô in 1947. He specialized in female dance roles, but also played romantic male leads. He is portrayed here in the role of Fujitsubo, consort to the Emperor and the secret lover of Prince Genji in “Tales of Genji.”
