Virginia Darce painted murals, and was an illustrator, designer, and writer. She wrote art criticism for the Spectator in the 1930’s and the Spokane Review during World War II. She worked as a stained glass artist for the W.P. Fuller Glass Co. and produced stained glass designs for the WPA that were used for the Blue Ox Bar of Timberline Lodge. Darce also created a seventy-foot mural for the Oregon City Library. During her time in Portland she was manager for the Skidmore Fountain Artist Association. She left Oregon in the 1940s and was active in Spokane and Los Angeles.
