Bio

A native of Ishikawa prefecture on the Japan Sea coast, Saiten studied Nihonga under Terazaki Kôgyô (1866-1919) and at the Tokyo Art School. After winning a special award at the Teiten exhibition in 1927, he became a member of the judging committee.
