Description

Jon Sonsini paints portraits from life. For several years, he has depicted the latino day laborers who gather outside his studio in a downtown Los Angeles neighborhood. Sonsini hires each subject, paying them wages equivalent to what they would be paid for their physical work. His paintings balance political sentiments of immigration and labor with the sensitive expression of individuals.
