Although a number of her subjects are unidentified, Prášilova conveys rich detail in their facial features, dress, and mood. Many of her sitters were members of Houston’s elite academic and social circles. She photographed her husband's colleagues at Rice University, producing portraits of notable professors of chemistry as well as their spouses and children. And she opened a studio in Houston's Junior League building, where members of the women's charitable group regularly met and socialized.
