Description

Prášilova photographed actor William Powell (1892–1984) while working for the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation in New York City. Powell, best known for his role in the Thin Man films, was often cast as a suave and sophisticated romantic lead. He starred in the silent films Dangerous Money and Romola (with Lillian and Dorothy Gish) in 1924, the same year Prášilova made this portrait.
