Description

During his long career Barre sculpted many portraits of celebrities and royalty. This figure of an unidentified lady is close in likeness to images of Princesse Marie d'Orleans, but it also bears many points of comparison to Barre's portrait of the young Queen Victoria created on the occasion of her coronation in 1837.
