Description

Sable mouvant (Quick Sand), an illustrated book with ten aquatints by Pablo Picasso, was created as a tribute to Picasso's late friend, the author Pierre Reverdy (1889–1960), an influential member of the circle comprised of Picasso, Georges Braque, and several Surrealist artists. Picasso's illustrations for Reverdy's last poem depict the artist working with his model, one of Picasso's most enduring themes.
