Description

"Evion" reconsiders a painting from seven years earlier. Named after a bar Jasper Johns frequented while traveling in Tokyo, painting and print share many of the same images: a garbage can lid, a hanger, a piece of string. "I like to repeat an image in another medium . . . In a sense, one does the same thing two ways and can observe differences and sameness—the stress the image takes in a different media."
