Bio

Hamilton Aaris had over seventy-four one-person shows in Oregon and other states, garnered more than 150 awards, and sold over one thousand works of art during his career. Aaris was a private art teacher as well as an arts reporter in Portland for the Spectator, the Oregonian, and the Oregon Journal. He maintained a studio in Portland at 3022 NE Broadway and later at 2381 NW Flanders from the 1940's to 1971. In addition to painting, Aaris produced ceramics and sculpture. He retired to Palm Springs, California in 1971.
