A graduate of Seto Ceramics High School 瀬窯業高校; as of 2012, a member of the faculty at the same school. (Location: Seto Town, Aichi Prefecture). Researcher at the Seto Branch of the National Industrial Testing Laboratory. His works have regularly been selected for exhibition at (annual) national competitive exhibitions, such at Nitten, Nihon Gendai Kôgei Ten, Asahi Tôgei Ten, Kôfûkai Ten, etc. Among the prizes has won are the Nitten Special Selection, Asahi Tôgei Prize (1967), Gendai Kôgei Ten Grand Prize in Contemporary Crafts; Aichi Preceture Craft and Culture Prize (1984). He has also had several solo exhibitions. He resides in Takahama, Aichi Prefecture, a city known for its ceramics industry.
