Bio

The eldest son of the porcelain ceramicist Matsuo Shigetoshi, Matsuo Jun attended Saga Junior Art College (in Saga Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan) and then apprenticed with Kyoto potter Iwabuchi Shigeya. He joined his father's kiln from 1985 through 1991, and then established an independent kiln in Takeo in Saga Prefecture.
