Description

Charles Heaney began visiting eastern Oregon and Nevada in the late 1920s. The spare beauty of the terrain immediately captivated him. The vast spaces of this high desert country, where soil is stretched thin over the bones of the earth, were to become one of the dominant themes in his paintings.
